Time will continue to pass whether I try today or not. Where do I want to be in a month?

Friday: My weight this morning was down to 208.5 from 211!! It’s been a busy week at work and today was no different. I drive a lot for my job and have been packing a lunch. It’s very hard to find car-friendly food that’s healthy. Today I really didn’t have enough to eat before I got home, and I was starving. I got supper made early-ish so I didn’t snack. My willpower has been pretty good though.
Saturday: Days at home are hard. Especially with Hubby wanting to try out the new Mexican restaurant in town. I convinced him to eat a salad with me instead. His plan would have tasted better and been more fun, but I would have felt crappy about it later.
Sunday: I’m looking for Pinterest projects for a DIY try for Live Life Trying. Everything I’m drawn to is food. Cakes and cookies and pies and cheeses. So much gooey, stringy cheese. Still on the hunt for a not-food project. Buy hey, I was on my elliptical for 45 minutes!! That’s huge! The max amount of time I’ve been on that thing since we bought it years ago is 20 minutes. Granted, I swore a lot and begged for time to pass for the last 25 minutes but I got through it. Time will always pass no matter what shitty task you’re doing.
Monday: I never used to eat breakfast so I’ve had to figure out what works. I need fast and easy. I’ve been making hard-boiled eggs once a week (check this out: “Hard-boiled” in the Pressure Cooker) and will eat one full egg and one egg white for breakfast. If I’m working outside the house that day, I’ll eat fruit or a protein bar in the car on my way. Took some searching to find a bar that I liked that has low sugar and high protein. If I’m working at home I’m usually so busy that I don’t think about food again until lunch. I did another 45 minutes on the elliptical today. It still sucked.
Tuesday: So far, losing weight has been easier than I anticipated. But today on the elliptical the last 15 minutes of the 48 minutes was pure torture. I swear I was climbing a mountain. I was so close to giving up and quitting before I hit my target of 45 minutes. But, time passes and though my pace was slow, I made it.
Wednesday: I worked out of town today. I thought that I would be home sooner than I was so I didn’t pack myself much of a lunch. I had just enough healthy food in my lunch to keep me from stopping for fast food. I was S.T.A.R.V.I.N.G. when I got home. But, since my calories were so low throughout the day, I was able to have a big scoopful of rice with my chicken for supper and still ended the day 877 calories under my target in my Lose It app.
Thursday: Today I feel my resolve starting to slip. I’m SO FLIPPIN’ sick of turkey and carrots! The middle kid made a pizza and I had one piece. Just one though! I had a late lunch date with the oldest kid and had a chimichanga complete with tons of queso cheese. It was heavenly. I ended up having an appointment Thursday night so by the time I got home it was late, and I was more tired than hungry so I still ended up 429 calories under my target. I think. I used a similar dish that my app has in it to guess the calories of the chimi. I put it at 1100.
Friday morning weigh-in: I’ve been stepping on the scale daily, and that’s not really the best thing for me to do. Weight fluctuates quite a bit, and it’s disheartening to see the higher number. But this morning I saw my lowest number — 206.5 lbs!
Upcoming week’s challenges: I’m getting tired of the foods I’ve been eating so it is time to add something different and new to the mix. On Sunday I have to provide baked goods to the girl’s figure skating club — so I have to make some yummy treats and NOT eat them! I did great at the beginning of last week with exercise and then kind of dropped the ball. Exercise really makes it so much easier to stay within my calorie intake budget so it really is imperative that I make the time for it.
See you next Friday!
Disclaimer that I probably should put in here: I’m not a health professional of any kind, and I am not advocating any kind of weight loss method. I am simply telling you what is working or not working for me and hopefully inspiring someone else.
